Paul Carlon & Los Americas conjure an alternate onstage universe where Duke Ellington plays with Cuban timba godfathers los Van Van, and Brazilian Maracatu powerhouse Naçâo Estrela Brilhante accompanies blues legend Robert Johnson. The band offers a soundscape slideshow of variations on the theme of “who is American?”, taking in the entire expanse of the Americas North and South.
